Overview
Facebook Group Events Summarizer is a macOS application that runs locally on your computer. This policy explains what data the app accesses and how it is handled.
Data We Collect
Facebook Group Events Summarizer does not collect any data. The app runs entirely on your Mac. No analytics, no telemetry, no usage tracking, no cloud servers.
Facebook Data
To function, the app accesses your Facebook account through a browser session:
- Session cookies — Stored locally in
~/Library/Containers/com.georgetraver.fbgroupsevents/Data/. These authenticate you with Facebook during event scanning. They never leave your machine. - Group names and event data — Scraped from Facebook's web pages and stored locally in
~/Library/Containers/com.georgetraver.fbgroupsevents/Data/events.json. You can delete this file at any time.
No Facebook data is ever transmitted to us, to any server, or to any third party.
Third-Party Software
The app uses these open-source libraries, all running entirely locally:
- Playwright — Browser automation (Chromium-based). Renders Facebook's web pages to extract event data.
- PyQt6 — Desktop UI framework.
- Chromium — Embedded browser engine. Runs in isolation with no connection to Google services.
Data Deletion
You can delete all locally stored data at any time:
- Open the app and go to Account → Log Out to clear your Facebook session.
- Delete
~/Library/Containers/com.georgetraver.fbgroupsevents/Data/to remove all cached data. - Delete the app from Applications to remove all traces.
Third-Party Links
Exported HTML files may contain links to Facebook at https://www.facebook.com. We are not responsible for Facebook's privacy practices.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top will be updated. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance.
